FBSN Members & Friends,
As we continue our series of bringing speakers on who have a presentation at this year’s SOS, we want to welcome Alan Hughes for this weekend’s Sheepdog Saturday.
Alan has been a long-time FBSN member (joined in 2018), but Saturday will be Alan’s first time ever speaking to the other FBSN members. Alan will also be a first-time speaker at SOS.26
Alan is an Army veteran with over 20 years of law enforcement experience, including service as a patrol officer, investigator, and SWAT leader. He is the founder of Better Protectors, a veteran-owned company specializing in church safety training and consulting for faith-based organizations nationwide. Alan is the author of The Art of Not Getting Murdered: Situational Awareness for Everyday Life and has trained dozens of church safety teams across the country, bringing practical, mission-focused approaches to security that balance tactical readiness with the welcoming nature of ministry.
For SOS.26, Alan will be speaking in 4 different breakout sessions, teaching one of the many topics he presents professionally. That topic title is, “From Sheepdog to Teammate: Building Safety Partnerships Across Every Ministry.”
