A young Pastor John Hagee gave a message on spiritual warfare at his small church (Trinity Assembly) in San Antonio, TX on Wednesday night, December 23rd, 1971. As Hagee spoke, a man walked in cursing at another man in the audience, then pointed a gun at him.
That man (who was the gunman’s cousin) pulled out his own gun and a gunfight resulted. The timing was so matched with the message, many in attendance thought it was a planned skit emphasizing Satan working through men.
It was no skit. Both men were wounded in the exchange of gunfire. The assailant was tackled by a member of the congregation and held for police.
John Hagee was not stopped by that attack or others in many forms that came against his ministry over 60 years of preaching. Today, the church he founded in 1987, Cornerstone Church in San Antonio, is led by John’s son, Matthew. They still have intentional protection.
SOS.25, the 7th annual summit of church security professionals, will be held in Cornerstone’s new 65,000 square-foot community hall addition which includes a large foyer, café, banquet hall, plaza, and smaller assembly areas.
Think About it
The Security Operations Summit (SOS) consistently brings in security operators, verified to be representatives from FBO’s or First Responder Agencies, from approximately 40 states. This year I am believing for 45 states (30 states are already registered with nearly 3 months to go) to be represented by 500 or more attendees.
Besides the networking and contacts generated, including specific program times where those from specific states and regions meet, there are many other benefits to attending an SOS event.
This year we have nearly 40 different speakers, presenting 9 plenary sessions plus over 50 individual topic presentations spread through 6 breakout meeting times. All in 2-1/2 days (Thursday 7/24, Friday and ½ day on Saturday 7/26).
A panel of those directly involved with homicides at faith-based organizations will present on Saturday. There is nothing like hearing it straight from those who experienced it.
In addition to the exhaustive 2-1/2 day event, there are also 10 pre-event 4-hour intensive courses as add-on options on Wednesday 7/23/2025.
Satan continues to work through men. If you are one who answered the call to stand against evil when it comes to your church, this summit is for you.
