Our society continues racing towards corruption. Acceptance of evil is pushed on us daily.
I often recall Bob Vernon (former assistant LAPD Police Chief) writing in his book, L.A. Justice, “When wrong is defended, when right is attacked, the pillars of social structure crumble and fall.”
Isaiah wrote, “Woe to those who call evil good and good evil, who put darkness for light and light for darkness, who put bitter for sweet and sweet for bitter!” [i]
We’re reminded of scriptures imploring us to think good thoughts (Philippians 4:8 etc), not return evil with evil (I Peter 3:9) and a plethora of other scriptures for better living based on peace and love. I don’t argue with that.
But don’t use scriptures to muzzle the God-given duties of warriors to call evil out.
Last week a person (who might have been male or female) opened fire in a church having brought their child directly into the gun battle, getting him shot. Trying to untangle the long accepted and celebrated trend of this person changing from woman back to man, then back again makes my head hurt. But when the NEWS, general public and even the family of the attacker speaks of the issues, it’s everybody else’s fault.
The fault is 100% that of the attacker and those who sent him or her. From Satan himself over to every politician who proclaims good as evil and evil as good.
Think About It
When this moral controversy was real active in 2012, a gay rights activist attacked the Family Research Council (FRC) to make a pro-gay statement. With a 9mm handgun, two additional loaded mags, an extra box of ammunition and 15 Chick-fil-A sandwiches in his backpack he attempted entry into the conservative Faith-Based organization. He shot unarmed FRC security guard Leo Johnson in the arm, but Johnson overcame him anyway, detained him from entry and successfully held him for authorities.
The attacker also had the address of another area faith-based group target in his backpack. His intention was to kill as many as he could, then smear the Chic-fil-A sandwiches in their dead faces. Did you see that part of the story on the evening news?
Satan is the one behind the narrative that calls good evil and evil good. He attacked last week in Texas and has the addresses of other ministries in his backpack too.
[i] Isaiah 5:20
