Today (December 9th, 2023 as I write this), marks the 16th anniversary of one of the worst days of my life; when 2 young girls were murdered at my church before I or anyone else could stop it. Yet, the small inexperienced team of us defenders (with good intentions and little to no training), did what we could to stop the killer before he could kill others. That day equipped me with information and experiences to help others. I would not relive it but am grateful to have experienced it.
I have learned from experience, both how to conduct effective models of operating protection efforts and of conducting instructional events based on the topic along the way. Some events were great and some not. I wish I was proud of every event I was part of in the past. I’m not. I’ve learned a lot about how to do things better, both as a practice and as a learning event.
Proverbs 11:14 (NKJV) says, “Where there is no counsel, the people fall; But in the multitude of counselors there is safety.”
There is a reason every serious human endeavor has geographic and / or periodic meetings of the leaders and participants of that specific effort.
If we try to accomplish something alone, that’s all it is; a personal accomplishment.
This endeavor of protecting the faithful is worthy of a connected collection gathering to hear the collective acumen of many counselors.
If we seek no counsel, we are destined to fall.
Think About it
The Faith Based Security Network (FBSN) is the connected collection of those called into this great endeavor of protecting the faithful. Nobody has the only hand in this deal. We need each other.
The annual convention we call the “Security Operations Summit” (SOS), is the annual gathering of those most active in this worthy activity. The SOS is always the last full weekend in July.
SOS.24 will take place at the Cherry Hills Community Church in the Denver, Colorado suburb of Highlands Ranch.
Though there are many details and speakers to work through yet, we have the dates (July 24 - 27, 2023) and the destination (Highlands Ranch, Cherry Hills Community Church) confirmed.
Keep an eye on this and other upcoming FBSN events on our website, where you can register and save money with the early-bird pricing while details are still developing. Go to; https://www.fbsnamerica.com/events
