Multiple shootings have taken place in schools, workplaces, and houses of worship across the nation and around the world, and they continue to raise the issue of safety and security where people live, work, and play. While active violence continues to escalate, forward thinking administrators and risk managers are looking at safeguards that can be taken to protect their personnel and guests. But what is truly effective?
Utilizing specific case studies, details of truly effective violence mitigation strategies emerge. This session will also include the never-before-seen details of the Covenant School shooting, and the properly implemented mitigation strategies deployed by the faculty and staff during those terrifying fourteen minutes prior to law enforcement being able to neutralize the threat.
The Covenant School shooting details are provided by the presenter as he is the trainer that conducted active violence mitigation training for the school prior to the attack. Furthermore, he has participated in extensive debriefings with the faculty and staff and was able to conduct a crime scene walk through with the homicide unit within 48 hours of the attack.
