Bruce Alpe

Senior Director of Security, Lakewood Church

Bruce Alpe, MSM, CPP has extensive work experience in the field of security and law enforcement. Bruce has served as the Senior Director of Security at Lakewood Church since April 2022.

Previously, Bruce was a Regional Vice President for PNC Bank, responsible for PNC banking locations along the southern United States spanning Florida to California. Before accepting the role at PNC and following his retirement from the Federal Bureau of Investigation (FBI) in November 2019, Bruce was a Security Consultant for the College Football Playoff, ESPN, and the XFL professional football league.

Before venturing into the private sector, Bruce served in a variety of leadership positions for the FBI, including Chief of the FBI’s Chief Security Officer Program; Critical Incident Response Superisory Special Agent managing the response teams for SWAT, Bomb Technicians, Evidence Response, and Hazardous Materials; Chief Security Officer (CSO), and Special Agent working murder-for-hire, drug cartels, illegal gambling operations, and fraud.

Bruce holds a Masters of Security Management degree, Bachelors of Business Administration (BBA) in Accounting, and has been a Certified Protection Professional (CPP) with ASIS since 2010. Bruce led a section through the FBI’s prestigious National Academy (FBINA) in 2017, following his role as the FBI’s Super Bowl LI Coordinator in Houston, February 2017. Alpe has received the FBI’s Medal of Excellence (Security Program) and the Director’s Leadership Award.

Alpe has presented on How to Secure a Super Bowl along with his partner from the Houston Police Department, risk management, security/threat assessments, leadership, and an array of security disciplines. Alpe has also served as security expert in civil and criminal proceedings. Alpe resides in Houston with his wife of 23+ years, their three children, two dogs, and cited Philippians 2:3 – Do nothing out of selfish ambition or vain conceit rather, in humility put others above yourselves. One of his verses is Colossians 3:23: Whatever you do in Word or deed, do all for the glory of God.
