About the speaker
Alan Hughes is an Army veteran with over 20 years of law enforcement experience, including service as a patrol officer, investigator, and SWAT leader. He is the founder of Better Protectors, a veteran-owned company specializing in church safety training and consulting for faith-based organizations nationwide. Alan is the author of The Art of Not Getting Murdered: Situational Awareness for Everyday Life and has trained dozens of church safety teams across the country. He brings practical, mission-focused approaches to security that balance tactical readiness with the welcoming nature of ministry.
