Shanna serves with the Faith Based Security Network (FBSN) as the Lead Analyst for the Deadly Force Incident Study for Faith-Based Organizations, where her work focuses on identifying, analyzing, and translating real-world violent incidents into actionable lessons for houses of worship. In this role, she examines deadly force encounters impacting faith communities nationwide to help leaders and safety team better understand emerging threats, systemic failures, and effective mitigation strategies.
She also serves as the Conference and Programs Coordinator for FBSN, overseeing the planning and execution of national training events, summits, and educational programs designed to equip faith leaders and security teams with practical, evidence-based tools.
Shanna teaches on the deadliest threats facing houses of worship, including targeted violence, domestic violence spillover, and personal conflict, as well as the behavioral and situational profiles of mass killers. Her instruction emphasizes threat recognition, pre-incident indicators, prevention strategies, and response considerations grounded in documented case studies rather than theory.
