This breakout session will emphasize sustainable training and continual improvement through manageable steps—setting a realistic starting point and building skills over time.
We will discuss what effective training programs and instructors look like, identifying key “green flags” such as honesty and transparency, practical framework, and an expectation of ongoing development.
The primary physical skills focus will be stopping a person’s forward progression towards their objective, using body positioning and control, with awareness of potential weapons and carry points. Participants will practice these skills individually and in small teams, emphasizing communication and team coordination. There will be a high emphasis on acting towards a defined objective.
Physical skills are only one part of effective functioning. We will also address awareness, verbal and nonverbal communication, personal fitness, weapons considerations, defining objectives, establishing boundaries, and functioning effectively as a unified team.
