Pastor Futrell served nine years with the St. Louis Metropolitan Police Department as a Field Training Police Officer. Before resigning as police officer to pastor full-time he was on the promotion cluster track to become a Sergeant (Field Supervisor). Pastor Futrell earned a Doctor of Education degree from Maryville University with emphasis in Higher Education Leadership. He is an alumni of Washington University- St. Louis (School of Law) with a Master Degree in Legal Studies and also a graduate certificate in Conflict Resolution. He graduated with a bachelor degree from Webster University with emphasis in American Studies after transferring from Oral Roberts University.
Recently Dr. Futrell was unanimously selected by the Presiding Bishop and General Board of the Church of God in Christ as Jurisdictional Bishop of Missouri Eastern First Ecclesiastical Jurisdiction in March 2023. He consecrated in November 2023. He is a professor and was recently named and promoted to Academic Program Coordinator of the Criminal Justice Department at St. Charles Community College.
Pastor Futrell is married to Kanesha M. Futrell. They have a blended family of five children Rory, Christopher, Rodrick, Josiah, and Marquaello II. He has three grandsons; twins-Kash and Krew most recent Quentin.
