The membership links for the Faith Based Security Network are active. The FBSN launched the first webinar telling of costs and benefits to a controlled small group of association pioneers on the evening of 2/5/18.

Though a larger webinar will follow, all are welcome to join at this time. Read the individual membership levels carefully. Application fees (for all but FBA members) are deductible as a charitable donation, BUT WILL NOT BE REFUNDED IF YOU FAIL THE CREDENTIAL CHECKS).

So please, read all the criteria closely for the level you are signing up for as a significant portion of the application fees go towards vetting activities and will not be refunded.

To learn more about the FBSN please fill in the blue button at the top of this page. You will be sent an invitation to the next webinar describing membership benefits. You may also go to the bottom of this page to learn more.

Following the membership joining links below are other details related to FBSN memberships. Immediately below the sign-up links following are the FBSN Statement of Faith (which all FBCL members must agree to) and the FBSN Code of Conduct (which ALL applicants must agree to).

WE BELIEVE the Bible to be the inspired, the only infallible, authoritative Word of God.

WE BELIEVE there is one God, eternally existent in three persons: Father, Son and Holy Spirit.

WE BELIEVE in the deity and humanity of Christ; in His virgin birth, His sinless life, His miracles, His vicarious and atoning death through His shed blood, His bodily resurrection, His ascension to the right hand of the Father, His present rule as Head of the Church and in His personal return in power and glory.

WE BELIEVE that, for the salvation of lost and sinful man, repentance of sin and faith in Jesus Christ results in regeneration by the Holy Spirit and that Jesus Christ is the only way of salvation.

WE BELIEVE in the present ministry of the Holy Spirit, by Whose indwelling the Christian is enabled to live a godly life.

WE BELIEVE in the resurrection of both the saved and the lost, they that are saved unto the resurrection of life and they that are lost unto the resurrection of damnation.

WE BELIEVE in the spiritual unity of believers in our Lord Jesus Christ, with equality across racial, gender, and class differences.

Why do we make membership so complicated (but so affordable)?

The FBSN is a brand-new effort. You are seeing Membership Criteria Version 1. Some of these may change, but in establishing criteria for FBSN memberships, several things were considered;

ONE) To have local, state and federal law-enforcement participation, and for maximum community safety, membership could not be theologically exclusive.

TWO) While membership must be theologically inclusive, national and local leadership would be best managed by consistency with the Christian beliefs of the founder, Board and membership majority.

THREE) To maintain operational security (OPSEC), assurances would be needed against infiltration by those seeking information for injurious intent or careless handling of sensitive information (Threat Intelligence).

FOUR) While the strength of the effort would be realized primarily through local coalitions (aka alliances, groups, associations etc.), the FBSN would not need to take over existing coalitions. The FBSN should however be of genuine support to existing coalitions and those being developed.

FIVE) Some members and demographics will never operate with or as a coalition. So, allowances would need to be made for FBSN memberships without affiliation to any coalition.

SIX) Most church security operators are volunteers, many of which are in churches with little or no security budgets. So, most dues would be paid out of pocket by volunteers already giving their time.

SEVEN) Volunteers often relocate to other regions or churches. This is especially true in regions where the volunteers are also active military.

With these and other observances of the national landscape of church security, the Board of Directors developed the following solutions. These will all be in place through the charter phase of the FBSN. Changes may need to be made as the association develops.

ONE) Various membership levels were established, with most dues at $75.00 / year (or less) so the membership dues qualify as a charitable donation.

TWO) All members are vetted. While memberships are open to all faiths and law enforcement, members apply for membership. Once membership dues, references and attachments are received, the membership is pending. Once the credentials have been verified, the membership becomes “active” or that membership is denied.

THREE) Membership dues are not refundable in case of denial. Applicants are encouraged to carefully consider their membership credentials and references before submitting. If the applicant has reason to question their approval, that might be good reason to not send dues.

FOUR) Memberships are to individuals, not to any group. If a member relocates to another church or region, their membership goes with them individually while qualifying them to participate in coalition activities in the new destination.

FIVE) While coalitions are encouraged to develop and operate in any area with or without connection to the FBSN through individual memberships, the FBSN provides a support structure for local level coalitions in financial and operational ways. Without a FBSN coalition, there is no avenue of support for associate memberships (see Faith-Based Security Associate, or “FBA” memberships described below). 50% of funds submitted from FBA memberships are available back to the local FBSN coalition for use in local programs and benefits.

SIX) The FBSN is working to develop active relationships with resources offering demonstrable discounts (some free with membership) to FBSN members. As the FBSN grows, more products and services will come on board for this important benefit.

SEVEN) All members are required to agree to a code of conduct and supply references for membership. Faith Based Coalition Leader (FBCL) members (as those who participate in local coalition management and are active in the development, documentation and dissemination of threat intelligence) must also sign a Statement of Christian Faith and submit to additional background verification. Law Enforcement Liaison members are qualified to participate in threat intelligence by way of their law-enforcement credentials. Faith Based Security Leader (FBSL) members (active in the development, documentation and dissemination of threat intelligence) must also submit to additional background verification.

EIGHT) Though some applicants may be active duty law-enforcement, they may not have the backing of their agency for participation in the FBSN. When such is the case, but they serve a faith-based organization (FBO) in a safety or security role, they are eligible for a FBCL membership with their law-enforcement credentials as a recognized alternate credential.

NINE) Future FBSN membership details are subject to change as improved methods may become apparent.
